You have studied the very basics of leatherworking and can use your talents to improve leather goods. You gain the following benefits:
- Your Constitution or Dexterity score increases by 1, to a maximum of 20.
- You gain proficiency with the Leatherworker’s Tools. If you are already proficient with them, you add double your proficiency bonus to checks you make with them.
- As an action, you can inspect any leather, hide or fur within 5 feet of you and learn what type of animal or beast it originates from, provided you have encountered the beast or learned of its hide before.
Lastly, during a long rest, you can craft and apply a patch to improve on the quality of a piece of armor, provided you have suitable components, Leatherworker’s Tools, and a non-equipped Padded, Leather, Studded Leather, Hide or Scale armor to apply the patch to.
