Bugs
Bugs are an observation device that allows you to experience a location remotely. A bug weighs a half pound. Each bug will attempt to send a stream of data. By itself, this bug does nothing. However, the bug can be relayed to many devices to create a variety of effects. A few examples are listed here:
- When relayed into a ioun speaker, screen, or visor, the device will play any data the device is capable of displaying that is being sent from the bug.
- When relayed into a terminal, the data being sent can be recorded and saved into memory strands, or further relayed.
Under-Licensed Use. If you attempt to use any bugs that you do not have the license for, your inexperience can cause a malfunction. There is a 30% chance that the bug will never send any data.
Reconnaissance License I Bugs
Audio Bug. As an action you can plant this object onto a surface you can reach. A creature requires a [covert DC] Awareness to notice the bug. Once planted, the bug will fuse into its surface and will start to send a stream of any auditory data it is able to hear. This bug is capable of hearing noises up to the same distance as a normal creature. The bug will evaporate into nothingness after [duration].

Picture Bug. As an action you can plant this object onto a surface you can reach. A creature requires a [covert DC] Awareness to notice the bug. This bug must be planted with a specific directionality as it is only able to see in a 60 degree cone. Once planted, the bug will fuse into its surface and will start to send a stream of 2D visual data that appears within it’s cone of vision. The bug will evaporate into nothingness after [duration].
Relayed with a Visor. A notable relay with a picture bug is with a visor: you can use any special properties of the visor while you watch though the picture bug (such as using a telescopic visor to zoom into the picture)

Olfactory Bug. As an action you can plant this object onto a surface you can reach. A creature requires a [covert DC] Awareness to notice the bug. Once planted, the bug will fuse into its surface and will start to send a stream of any olfactory data it is able to detect. This bug is capable of detecting olfactory experiences with the same reliability of a normal creature. The bug will evaporate into nothingness after [duration].

Mapping Bug. As an action you can plant this object onto a surface you can reach. A creature requires a [covert DC] Awareness to notice the bug. Once planted, the bug will fuse into its surface and will start to send a stream of 3D visual data that appears within a 15 foot radius of the bug. In the event that the receiving device is attempting to display the received data but is not capable of displaying such size of 3D visual data, it will display the data scaled down to fit. The bug will evaporate into nothingness after [duration].

Tactile Bug. As an action you can plant this object onto a surface you can reach. A creature requires a [covert DC] Awareness to notice the bug. Once planted, the bug will fuse into its surface and will start to send a stream of 3D visual data and its associated tactile data that appears within a 15 foot radius of the bug. In the event that the receiving device is attempting to display the received data but is not capable of displaying such size of 3D visual data, it will display the data scaled down to fit. The bug will evaporate into nothingness after [duration].

Sensors
Sensors are an observation device that allows you to monitor for a very specific type of activity. A sensor weighs a quarter pound. Each sensor will emit a positive signal once it has been triggered. By itself, this signal does nothing. However, the sensor can be relayed to many devices to create a variety of effects. A few examples are listed here:
- When relayed into a ioun speaker, the speaker will play a series of beeping noises to alert people that it has been triggered.
- When relayed into a ioun screen or visor, the device will flash a warning screen to alert the observer.
- When relayed into a charge (even a null charge), the charge will detonate immediately.
Under-Licensed Use. If you attempt to use any sensors that you do not have the license for, your inexperience can cause false data. There is a 30% chance that the sensor will never send a signal.
Unlicensed Sensors
Sensor Badge. This badge is a small metallic disc, around 3 inches in diameter. This badge costs 10 credits and weighs minimal on it’s own, though 10 of these together weigh one pound. When a sensor is planted, the creature planting the sensor can attune any number of sensor badges to the sensor. A creature that holds a sensor badge will not trigger any sensors that the held badge is attuned to, however the badge must be in contact with your skin in order to function. A sensor badge is commonly branded with a corporate logo and can have up to 3 words engraved onto it.
Reconnaissance License I Sensors
Auditory Sensor. As an action you can plant this object onto a surface you can reach. A creature requires a [covert DC] Awareness to notice the sensor. This sensor will emit a positive signal if it detects a notable increase of noise above the ambient noise level of the room it is planted within (such as voices, loud footsteps, or machinery). Once planted, the sensor will fuse into its surface and will evaporate into nothingness after [duration].

Laser Sensor. As an action you can plant this object onto a surface you can reach. A creature requires a [covert DC] Awareness to notice the sensor. This sensor comes as two parts and will create a laser between both parts. This laser is only visible to creatures with thermal vision. These two parts can be no more than 15 feet away from each other. This sensor will emit a positive signal if any object or creature crosses through the laser, however invisible creatures or objects will not trigger this sensor. Once planted, the sensor will fuse into its surface and will evaporate into nothingness after [duration].

Visual Sensor. As an action you can plant this object onto a surface you can reach. A creature requires a [covert DC] Awareness to notice the sensor. This sensor will emit a positive signal if it detects any movement within it’s cone of vision. This movement must not be in obscurement. Smoke, rain, snow, or other environmental phenomena can obscure the sensor’s vision. Invisible objects that are moving will not trigger this sensor. Once planted, the sensor will fuse into its surface and will evaporate into nothingness after [duration].

Pressure Sensor. As an action you can plant this object onto a surface you can reach. A creature requires a [covert DC] Awareness to notice the sensor. This sensor is a one-foot square of translucent film that can be shaped by hand and covers a surface. Squares can be connected together by placing them next to one another to produce a larger sensor, though you can only connect sensors together if they are the same brand. It will emit a positive signal if it detects any pressure or weight difference within its area. Once planted, the sensor will fuse into its surface. You have a one minute window to place any objects or creatures onto the pressure sensor before it monitor pressure differences. The sensor will evaporate into nothingness after [duration].

Emotional Sensor. As an action you can plant this object onto a surface you can reach. A creature requires a [covert DC] Awareness to notice the sensor. When this sensor is planted, the sensor can be tuned to a particular emotion (such as fear, anger, pleasure, surprise, disgust, sadness or another emotion approved by your GM). This sensor will emit a positive signal if a creature within 60 feet of it experiences the particular emotion. Once planted, the sensor will fuse into its surface and will evaporate into nothingness after [duration].

Life Sensor. As an action you can plant this object onto a surface you can reach. A creature requires a [covert DC] Awareness to notice the sensor. This sensor will emit a positive signal if it detects any living creature within 60 feet of itself. The sensor’s detection can penetrate 1 foot of stone, 1 inch of common metal, or up to 3 feet of wood or dirt. Thicker substances block the sensors detection, as does a thin sheet of lead. Once planted, the sensor will fuse into its surface and will evaporate into nothingness after [duration].
