A power shield is an advanced form of defense that is integrated into an armor, and enables the wearer to project a defensive field as a reaction. Each power shield will state which events it can be used as a reaction towards.
Under-Licensed Use. If you attempt to use any power shields that you do not have the license for, your inexperience makes it difficult. There is a 30% chance the shield drains its battery and does not activate.

Deflection Disk. A deflection disk is a small metallic plate that it attached on the forearm. When used, the disk projects a defensive matrix that provides you with additional protection from attacks. The deflection disk requires a free hand to operate, however, it does not require any hands to hold.
Whenever you are targeted by an attack roll, you can use your reaction to drain [cells used] cells of energy from this device’s battery and increase your AC by [bonus AC] until the end of the current turn.
Deflection disks come in three sizes: Rondel, Bucker, and Targe. In addition to normal limitations, each size has additional restrictions placed onto it. Below are three tables that show all of the variants.
Deflection Rondels are small 5-inch wide disks that are integrated into an armor’s forearm and weigh 3 pounds. A disk’s small surface area is typically decorated with only the logo of the manufacturer. Rondels must be integrated into a small integration slot and require a small battery to operate.

Deflection Targes are large 15-inch wide disks that are integrated into an armor’s forearm and weighs 20 pounds. Targes are decorated with the logo of the manufacturer in addition to decorative engravings or strips of coloured metal. A targe must be integrated into a heavy integration slot and requires a large battery to operate.

Armor Class Licence I Power Shields
Scypher Shooting Star. The Scypher shooting star is a 7-inch star shaped plate that is attached on the forearm and weighs 4 pounds. It costs 750 credits. This power shield must be integrated into a small integration slot, and requires a small battery to operate. When used, the disk envelopes the wearer in a defensive matrix that flashes rainbow hues. This power shield requires a free hand to operate, however, it does not require any hands to hold.
Whenever you begin falling, you can use your reaction to drain 5 cells of energy from this device’s battery and you take no fall damage until the start of your next turn.
When you fall with this shield, your descent is not slowed and you travel at normal falling speeds. If you land on any creature while this shield is active, the creature will take collision damage despite the fact that you take no falling damage. Furthermore, surfaces that you land on may become unstable or break depending on your fall speed.
Armor Class Licence II Power Shields
Cerberus Ricochet. The Cerberus ricochet is a 18-inch metal plate. It is attached to the forearm and weighs 14 pounds. It costs 1,200 credits. This power shield must be integrated into a heavy integration slot, and requires a large battery to operate. When used, the plate creates a 3-foot blue projection of light in front of you. This power shield requires a free hand to operate, however, it does not require any hands to hold.
Whenever you are targeted by a ranged weapon attack, you can use your reaction to drain 8 cells of energy from this device’s battery and attempt to deflect a missile. If the attack misses you, you can make a ranged attack with the missile as part of the same reaction. This attack is a ranged might attack roll with a range of 80 feet and a long range of 240 feet. On a hit, the target takes damage equal to the damage that would have been done by the original attack.
Thunderhawk Thunderdome. The Thunderhawk thunderdome is a 10-inch circular-shaped metal plate with the words “Contain the Thunder” printed on the front. It is attached to the forearm and weighs 7 pounds. It costs 1,580 credits. This power shield must be integrated into a regular integration slot, and requires a medium battery to operate. When used, the disk projects an opaque black circular dome as a shock-absorption matrix. This power shield requires a free hand to operate, however, it does not require any hands to hold.
Whenever a grenade or charge is detonated within your long jump distance you can use your reaction to drain 12 cells of energy from this device’s battery and jump onto the explosive and control the effects of the grenade or charge.
When used, the explosion of the grenade or charge can not penetrate this power shield, however, the explosion will continue in a concentrated line up to its maximum radius in the opposite direction of the shield. An action can be used to place a grenade or charge on this power shield and activate it to create an explosive ray 10 inches in diameter and the length 3 times the grenades blast radius.
Armor Class Licence III Power Shields
Neurobuild Field Expander. A NeuroBuild field expander is an orange hexagon-shaped plate. It is attached to the forearm and weighs 1 pound. This power shield must be integrated into a small integration slot, and requires a small battery to operate. When used, the disk projects a matrix of emanating orange hexagons along the surface of a forcefield. This power shield requires a free hand to operate, however, it does not require any hands to hold.
Whenever you are targeted by an attack roll, you can use your reaction to drain [cells used] cells of energy from this device’s battery and increase your forcefield by [forcefield boost] until the end of the current turn.
Model | Cost | Cells Used | Forcefield Boost |
NeuroBuild Type A | ¢ 1,700 | 2 | + 4 F |
NeuroBuild Type B | ¢ 1,920 | 4 | + 7 F |
NeuroBuild Type F | ¢ 2,150 | 6 | + 10 F |
NeuroBuild Type 001 | – | – | + 90 F |
Valerievna Absorb. The Valerievna absorb is a 2-inch metal cone. It is attached to the forearm and weighs 2 pounds. It costs 2,015 credits. This power shield must be integrated into a small integration slot, and requires a small battery to operate. When used, the cone creates a swirling white light in front of you. This power shield requires a free hand to operate, however, it does not require any hands to hold.
Whenever you take elemental damage, you can use your reaction to drain 8 cells of energy from this device’s battery and take no damage. The shield then becomes charged with elemental energy equal to the damage prevented in this way. This charge is reduced by 1 every 6 seconds until it returns to 0. As long as this shield has a charge greater than 0, it can not be used to prevent damage.
As an action, you can discharge any stored elemental energy as an elemental bolt out of this shield at a creature or object within 60 feet, or 120 feet for long ranged. This is a ranged accuracy attack roll, and on a successful hit, the creature takes elemental damage equal to the elemental energy stored in this power shield, and the elemental energy is then reduced to 0.

Kijiri Evade. The kijiri evade is a two-inch metal plate shaped like a figure-eight that is attached to the forearm. It weighs 2 pounds and costs 2,275 credits. The power shield must be integrated into a small integration slot, and requires a small battery to operate. When used, the plate lights up with a bright green grow that encircles you. This power shield requires a free hand to operate, however, it does not require any hands to hold.
Whenever you are subjected to an effect that allows you to make a Dexterity saving throw to take only half damage, you can use your reaction to drain 3 cells of energy from this device’s battery and instead take no damage if you succeed on the saving throw, and only half damage if you fail.
